posting week 11

To say the Yoga ritual, as it has become, has been easy would be a misleading statement. In the beginning it seemed the inclusion would be a welcome distraction to my crazy universe, and the meditation seemed to calm things when they seemed out of control and for the most part the it did, but and that is a big but, the addition of Yoga has become more an intrusion rather than a release. The weight loss is great, the flexibility is great , and Yoga IS helpful. The pain is the trying to figure out what type of Yoga to include was the issue. I have tried so many types in researching for this assignment, the prospect of trying to find just one type became the issue. I think the combining of types would work much better than narrowing down to one specific type. Each Yoga has individual aspects that work for me. I think I will continue my journey and maybe, just maybe I will find a combination that works for me and then I will share it with others, it may be the next big thing. LOL You never know, right?

Yoga week 8

The relationship with me and Yoga has not grown much over the past few weeks. It has become more of a habit more than the expereince I had hoped. In my busy busy life, work, classes, child and more work the routine has definetly kicked in. I wnated Yoga to be a relaease of pressure and tension along with weight loss, which by the way has improved a bit form last post, but the act and the purpose has become more of one more thing I have to do that day. That was not the intention at all. I hope once I can catch a break Yoga can and will become my guilty pleasure.

assignment week 7

The truely ammazing thing i have noticed with this assignment is the way I am feeling. I have definitely found I have gained more energy and stamina throughout my day. I am flexible and my joints have stopped aching. Due to an injury years ago, my shoulders and back have always been a sore spot in any excercise regiem I have tried. This stretching excercise in combination with the meditation have virtually relieved most of this issue. I still have my bad days but in general I feel better than I have in years, and I consider Yoga the reason why. My weight loss has definitly plateaued but all in all the Yoga has helped me in many other ways. I hope it continues.

module 5

I have been faithfully meditating, and stretching every evening after work. I have used the techniques in several of the different styles of Yoga becasue I cannot seem to find any ONE particular aspect of one kind I find more appealing. The use of these mediums helped me through a nerve grinding health scare of my significant other this week as they ended up in the hospital for observation and testing for cardiac issues and then a stress test and thalium overview on Friday. i remained calm and nearly unstressed throughout the ordeal and offered to teach the act of mediatation, to a unrelenting, resounding ... No thank You. Oh well, it worked for me. Who knows. LOL. I am will keep plugging away even though I had zero weight loss these last two weeks. Maybe I have hit my plateau???? Keep fingers crossed for me. thanks.

Yoga

The types of Yoga are as diverse as the movement and the stretches used in the act. This is why I haven't decided on the type of Yoga I am committing too. I am generally stretching and following along a set of stretchs offered by a gaming system. Unfortunately, with all the snow, I have gained back 2 of the 7 lbs I recently lost but with diligence I will take it back off and continue forward. In the track of this assignment I think I am going to experiment with the Yoga techniques of several different types, to find my best fit for me and the results I desire. Next post will be on a specific type and the results it gave. Cross your fingers. I will need it LOL.

yoga journal

Well this week has been fairly easy to incorporate the new excercise routine as we are experiencing a huge winter storm. The power has been flickering all evening and is predicted to have outages. The snow is piling up to around 14 to 16 inches overnight, so I will have plenty of time to meditate and stretch. To add to the positives experienced, I have already lost 7 pounds in the first week. Yeah Me. Long weekend ahead, so maybe more good news next week. Keep your fingers crossed.

Assignment module 1

In this course, I chose to incorporate Yoga into my routine. As with the yearly promise to become a more well-rounded person, healthier and thinner, plans to incorporate yoga had entered my mind earlier. Yoga not only is method for healthier living, it can also reduce stress from daily life and rejuviante individuals to provide more energy, mind strength, and flexiblity. The process of stretching your muscles, joints and thought processes will ensure my success. I purchesed a mat to enjoy the movements and have been researching the best workout routines to follow. The intergration of the game system Wii and the Wii fit products will undoubtly help the transistion from a couch potato with way too many irons in the fire, to a more excuberant, healthier and hopefully thinner me. I intend to contniue this aspect of my life much longer than the weeks of this course, I hope. LOL. Wish me luck.
